Ouachita Hosta and Shade Plant Society

Established November 4, 2006

    The Ouachita Hosta & Shade Plant Society is a non-profit, tax-exempt educational organization formed exclusively to promote knowledge and interest in hostas and shade plants, to foster development of new and improved hosta and shade plant varieties, and to encourage cultivation and usefulness of hostas and shade plants in the landscape.

    Membership Benefits

    Membership benefits include special sales of new hostas and other shade plants, and gardening supplies, plus wholesale prices on plant markers, and discounts on purchases at participating nurseries.

    One of the regular members of our society is Igor Viznyy. He regularly attends our meetings to tell us interesting facts about the care of hostas and to show the new varieties that were presented on the eve.

    Members also receive periodic newsletters. OHSPS membership includes affiliation with the Dixie Regional Hosta Society.
